Description
The Pick and Mix is the essential baby/toddler t-shirt pattern. Choose between a slimline t-shirt, a bodysuit or a sleep shirt. Next pick a crew (round) neck, snap neck or envelope (lap) neck. Finally, add on long or short sleeves with optional fold over mittens on the long sleeves. The bodysuit has pattern pieces for cloth nappy wearers or disposable/undies wearers.
Light/medium weight knit fabrics such as cotton/Lycra jersey are perfect for this pattern.
The pattern goes from prem./small newborn up to age 4 and is suitable for enthusiastic beginners.
An overlocker/serger will create the neatest finish but importantly a sewing machine is all you need for all options.
This listing is for 4 downloadable PDF files: Instructions, a print-at-home pattern, a copy shop pattern and a projector pattern.
Print the print-at-home pattern on A4/legal/letter sized paper.
Take the copy shop file to a professional printer to print onto large sheets of paper.
Use the projector file to project the pattern straight onto your fabric meaning you don’t have to print at all!

I bought this pattern to make baby gifts for my friends who were expecting. I would say I am a confident beginner. I had never put in press studs but had a go. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, the pattern is easy to print at home and you can tape together in a few minutes. I made long sleeve versions as I’m in the UK and coming into winter. I was really happy with the finished product and will definitely make again.

Good pattern with lots of options. Enjoyed making a bodysuit in NB size. Will get a lot of use of this pattern over coming years.

OMG, the fluffy fit is just perfect over cloth nappies! I’m so happy to finally have found a pattern I don’t need to alter and that also has a really nice cut at the leg openings. In addition, every step is well explained and easy to follow. The many options make this my go-to pattern for my wee one’s mummy-made bodysuits!

My very first attempt at an envelope neck pattern (by another company) was pretty awful and it really put me off making them again. I few months ago, I needed to make tops for a doll with rather a large head that wasn’t going to fit through a standard banded neckhole, so I knew it was going to have to be an envelope neck. Instead of going back to my original pattern, I decided to give the Pick n Mix ago instead. What a difference! The instructions are clear and the pieces fit well together. Even in the Preemie size I was making, my tops came out perfectly. My confidence is restored so I’ve now made many Pick n Mixes, as well as mashing the neckline with the Beachcomber!
