Description
The Child Beachcomber is a relaxed fit dolman style top. Choose between a longer length t-shirt, a tunic or a dress. There are options for short/long sleeves, colour blocking and two neckband styles. Additionally, deep pockets can be added to the tunic and dress.
The Child Beachcomber pattern goes from prem./small newborn up to Age 12. There is a matching adult pattern.
Medium weight knit fabrics with good drape such as bamboo jersey, viscose or lighter weight cotton/lycra jersey are perfect for this pattern.
An overlocker/serger will create the neatest finish, but importantly a regular sewing machine is all you need for all options.
This listing is for 4 downloadable PDF files: Instructions, a print-at-home pattern, a copy shop pattern and a projector pattern.
Print the print-at-home pattern on A4/legal/letter sized paper.
Take the copy shop file to a professional printer to print onto large sheets of paper.

I’ve just made my first Beachcomber dress for my nearly 2 year old. Using the age 2 sizing. Its a very easy pattern to follow and cut out. Took me about 2 hours to make including cutting and construction. I used the projector pattern as I have one and its so much easier to use than paper patterns.. I did all my sewing using an overlocker and all the hems on a coverstitch. But this can easily be done on a normal sewing machine and twin needle. Very pleased with the result. I have the adult version to make one for myself sometime soon. Definetly going to try the colour block option next with long sleeves for the toddler.

This is one of my favourite dresses to make for my daughter, nearly two.. I think I’ve made her three so far and definitely planning more. Such a quick, easy sew (I’ve only made the simple version so far as she’s too small to bother about pockets) and has a lovely shape when worn! Can’t recommend this enough.

I made myself a beachcomber so naturally my 2yr old needed one to. This pattern is perfect for using up lots of scraps and the results are always stunning!
