Module 1: Learning the Basics
This module lays the foundations for all your future sewing. Your young person will learn skills that are full transferable to any pattern. Remember, your child/teen doesn’t need any sewing knowledge to take this course – I start right from the very beginning! The focus is on using light/mid-weight woven fabrics but I do touch on knit/stretch fabrics a little.
- Meet Your Machine: Take a guided tour of a sewing machine, learn how to thread your machine and then take your first stitches!
- Stitches: Take an in-depth look at the straight and zigzag stitches. Learn when you would use each, how to set your sewing machine up to sew each, and how to change the setting to suit your need.
