Description

The Superstar Bra is a lounge bra that’s so comfortable you’ll never want to take it off! It has a crossover back and three band options – regular jersey, cropped top jersey and elastic.

The Superstar Bra goes from XXS – 5XL and A – H cup. There are detailed instructions on how to pick the best size. There is also measurement information in the images above.

Light/medium knit fabrics with 50%+ stretch and strong return are required. Return means your fabric returns to its original size and shape after being stretched. Possible fabrics include cotton/Lycra jersey and athletic polyester/Lycra jersey. You can use the same fabric for your outer and lining. Additionally, you can provide extra support by sewing a middle layer of power mesh.

This pattern is suitable for enthusiastic beginners. An overlocker/serger will create the neatest finish but importantly a regular sewing machine is all you need for all options.

This listing is for 4 downloadable PDF files: Instructions, a print-at-home pattern, a copy shop pattern and a projector pattern.

Print the print-at-home pattern on A4/legal/letter sized paper.

Take the copy shop file to a professional printer to print onto large sheets of paper.

Use the projector file to project the pattern straight onto your fabric.

For more photos, inspiration and assistance you are very welcome to join the Waves & Wild Facebook Group.

The measurement charts for all W&W patterns can be found here.

The pattern is created in layers meaning you can print just the layers (sizes) you need.

This pattern is very easy to print and put together at home. I read the instructions before hand and it clearly explains which pages to print for which size. I am a confident beginner and made the pattern on a standard sewing machine using a stretch stitch. The instructions are clear and concise and the pictures make it easy to understand what you should be doing when. The Waves and Wild Facebook group had lots of helpful suggestions and support for sewing. I had never sewn a dart but someone suggested shortening the straight stitch length as you sew towards the apex to make the dart less pointy. It worked for me. Very happy with the pattern, instructions and fit. 😄

Just made my first one. Instructions are clear and easy to follow.

    Such a great pattern.

Just wow. I am still amazed I managed to make a bra that fit perfectly first time, it’s comfortable, flattering and incredibly quick to sew. Supportive for large sizes (I use the power mesh option for my mum), and great for smaller sizes too (for myself I use the insert option). Another win!

I was thrilled to find this pattern, and found that I got my perfect fit after the 3rd attempt with only a couple of tiny tweeks.
It’s so easy to make, with the video to help… Which I recommend you watch first. I now don’t wear anything else except these, and have multiple colours in my wardrobe. I even extended the band to make it more of a top for the summer.
I highly recommend it….. Once you’ve made your perfect size you’ll never look back!

I’m so amazed at how beautiful and easy this bra was to make! This was a dream to sew up and took me an hour from start to finish. I love how it looks and fits too. What an amazing pattern!

This is an amazing pattern. I use it to make swimwear, it is really nice and comfortable to wear.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, as always W&W has awesome pattern.
I found also that the facebook group is great to have some ideas and support while sewing W&W.

Great pattern and easy to follow with clear instructions with visuals, best fitting bra by far. Very comfy and supported in the bust area. However I find the cross over back irritated my fibromyalgia tender points, I know there is a hack in the group but would be great if this was put into the pattern as I’ve not attempted it yet.

This bra is quick and easy to sew, with clear instructions and helpful illustrations. The instructions have a helpful list of ways that the pattern and sewing can be adjusted to help the bra fit well – which made fitting a lot simpler. I made this bra for a big busted friend and had to widen the straps to make them more supportive. I intend to make it for a smaller bust next and suspect it will need fewer tweaks. This was my first attempt at underwear and it went very smoothly. I don’t have an overlocker, I used the zigzag and overlock stitch on my regular machine.

First attempt at a bra this pattern is great, my first one needed tweaking but my second go is my most comfortable bra, ready to make lots more now.

I’d tried making a more traditional bra before and didn’t enjoy the process – it was just too fiddly for me! The Superstar bra is completely different though – it’s a simple pattern to sew, and I loved the fact that I could just use leftover jersey fabric and didn’t have to buy lots of different fabrics and notions. I really enjoyed sewing the pattern, and I definitely intend to make more in future. The finished bra maybe isn’t as supportive as a traditional bra, but I find it fine for daily wear and it’s so comfy! I have made these as ‘sleep’ bras for my daughter and she loves them.
Easy to follow instructions and a great pattern for those who can wear a crossover back strap.

  12. Barbara (verified owner)

I have made one bra and although my sizing was incorrect the pattern was easy and well fitting. My daughter loves it!
I am now making a larger size as I really love the pattern.
    Thank you
