This dress was inspired by the beautiful place I am lucky to call home. This may be my home but it is not my land. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land. Kinjarling is the traditional name for place I live. The choice of name has been discussed with members of the local Menang Noongar community including Carol Pettersen – Menang Elder, Recipient of the Order of Australia and Justice of the Peace. I am extremely grateful for their time and advice.
