Level: Beginner+

Prem./Small Newborn – Age 4

Description

The Harem Romper will soon become a staple in your little one’s wardrobe. Available with long or short sleeves, and long or short legs it can be adapted for all seasons. It has three necklines – round, snap and envelope. It has a snap crotch and there is the option to add feet. The harem shape means that it is suitable for all, but in particular has room for cloth nappies!

The Harem Romper pattern goes from prem./small newborn up to age 4. It is designed for lightweight knit (stretch) fabrics.

An overlocker/serger can be used for many steps but importantly a sewing machine is all you need for all options.

This listing is for 4 downloadable PDF files: Instructions, a print-at-home pattern, a copy shop pattern and a projector pattern.

Print the print-at-home pattern on A4/legal/letter sized paper.

Take the copy shop file to a professional printer to print onto large sheets of paper.

Use the projector file to project the pattern straight onto your fabric meaning you don’t have to print at all!

The pattern is created in layers which allows you to simply print the layers (sizes) you need.

This is an instant download PDF, not a finished item. Refunds can not be given for purchases made in error due to the digital nature of PDF patterns.

Made my first Harem Romper as a gift for a friend’s new granddaughter and was pleasantly surprised at how straightforward it was to put together. You do need to concentrate when cutting out the pattern pieces as there are so many options to pick from . I intended to make the footed version but cut the leg pieces out for the cuffed leg so did that instead. Next time I will pay more attention as I really like the look of the footed romper.

I have to admit, I mainly use this pattern in a hacked version to sew PJs. I’ve added a vertical snap placket to the front of the crew neck version, so my Harem Rompers make great one-piece PJs for wee ones in cloth nappies. Even without this hack, the pattern is very versatile with many options and clear, easy to follow instructions. I highly recommend this!
