Description

The Explorer Raglan T-Shirt is a stylish, but easy-to-sew t-shirt that will quickly become a staple in your little one’s wardrobe.

There are 4 sleeve options – long, three quarter, short and retro rolled. You can choose from a straight hem, or low backed curved hem. There are also options for colour blocking and a snap close neckline.

An overlocker/serger will create the neatest finish but importantly, a regular sewing machine is all you need for all options. The pattern is suitable for enthusiastic beginners.

This listing is for 4 downloadable PDF files: Instructions, a print-at-home pattern, a copy shop pattern and a projector pattern.

Print the print-at-home pattern on A4/legal/letter sized paper.

Take the copy shop file to a professional printer to print onto large sheets of paper.

Use the projector file to project the pattern straight onto your fabric.

I love this pattern. This is my go-to for t-shirts for the toddlemonster. The pattern is easy to follow, the Ragland sleeve means that this pattern is mostly straight lines to sew. I used the snap placket option when the baby was smaller with a huge head. This was trickier but as ever the instructions talked me through it slowly and I felt so accomplished when I did it!
I use this for pjs and day Tees too!
I tried one with the colour blocking option too which was great for making use of a smaller scrap of beautiful fabric.

I sewed this up for my average sized 2 and 3 year old. I did go by the measurements but if I was making again I’d probably size them up as its quite a fitted tee but I want my mummy mades to last a lifetime 😂 the pattern was clear and easy to follow. Marking your shoulder pieces is a must when making a raglan, again this is on the pattern so, pay attention. This is a super quick sew. The longest part was deciding to sit down and hem them!

This was my first attempt at sewing with stretch fabric. I made the basic raglan, only 5 pieces and really simple to make. It was quite fitted so I’d probably size up but looks really good on my 3 y..o. Will definitely be making a few more of these as it was so quick and easy, even the neck band was straightforward.

The explorer raglan is a great pattern and I have made heaps of them in lots of different sizes. The pattern comes together well and I find the fit true to size. I especially like the curved back hem for something a bit different.

  5. Cheryl Lynass

This is one of my favourite kids patterns. It is just such a gorgeous design. It fits so well and looks so trendy. Very easy sew.

  7. Ryan Hall

My favorite raglan pattern! Super easy and fast sew, I love making these for my son and even my daughter! Instructions are clear and pattern fits true to size on my kiddos.

  8. Cindy Hamilton

Love this t-shirt. Made for older grandchildren and now will be making the placket option for the toddler with the large head. I too will size up slightly so they fit longer. Easy pattern and good instructions.

Quick and easy to follow. I’ve made a few of these and they have fast become a stable item in my toddlers wardrobe.

An easy pattern to sew. I’m a confident beginner in sewing and decided to make some for Christmas presents for my nephews and my daughter. I cut out all the sizes and then did batch sewing on my overlocker. They all turned out perfectly, and I had a lot of fun with choosing patterns and colours, super heroes and tie-dyed. I made them long-sleeved for sun protection.

Great easy t-shirt pattern, works well as a pyjama top too. Looking forward to making more of these!

Has to be one of my most used patterns, a great raglan t-shirt which is a quick and easy make with great instructions.
Have also used it with dress skirts from Emi and Eclipse.

This is likely my favourite t-shirt pattern. The instructions are so easy to read and follow, that the t-shirt almost sews itself. There’s a couple of great options, so you can play around with pattern and colour combinations to your heart’s content.

I use a projector for sewing and the projector files are fantastic. They are all unfolded, so there’s no folding of fabric necessary.

This was the first ever garment I made, almost the first ever thing I sewed! The first was a bit of a disaster but the second one was great, my son still wears it now more than a year later. Brilliant pattern, so easy to follow and so many options! I’ve made several of these already and I’m sure I’ll be making more.

  16. Rachel

Another popular pattern in our hosue. So quick to come together and the colour blocking is a great option. My son loves it and we love that it can be mixed to add the emi skirt onto it with very little modifying.

  17. Sharleene Weeks (verified owner)

This pattern is brilliant, the raglan sleeves are great when using plains and patterned combined. My boys wardrobes are full of explorer raglans. They’re so quick and easy to make too.

  18. Linda Goddard

Oh my goodness! This – along with Shoreline Shorts – has to be my favourite and most used pattern!
So quick, so easy and such a lovely end product.
I’ve lost count of how many I’ve made😂🤣.

  19. Miriam Orr

A great everyday t-shirt pattern. I’ve made versions with one fabric and with contrast sleeves or binding; it’s fun to play around with options and great for using small cuts of fabric. The raglan sleeves make it easy to get arms in when getting dressed. A fun sew!
